The organizers of the Philippine Toys, Hobbies, and Collectibles Convention (Toycon PH) has announced its 2026 event schedule with the return of their Summer Prelude and their main convention scheduled on Independence Day weekend, as well as their events in Baguio and Megamall.
In a post on its Facebook page on Friday, January 23, Toycon PH said that it would begin its year with the return of Toycon Summer Prelude, the free-admission event which is slated to be held at the Okada Manila integrated resort in Paranaque on April 11-12.
Summer Prelude was launched last year with guests from Japan such as Tetsu Inada, the voice actor of Endeavor of My Hero Academia, visiting the country and meeting his Filipino counterpart, Christian Velarde.
Tokusatsu actors were also invited at the event led by Tetsuo Kurata and Ryosuke Kaizu, as well as cosplayers Myrtle Sarrosa, Lia Bear; and Prince and Awie de Guzman, among others.
The event marked the first time Toycon partnered with an integrated resort since 2014’s Toycon Launch at Resorts World Manila.
Then in two months, the main Toycon 2026, now called as “Toycon X”, will be held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. This will occur during the Independence Day Long Weekend, June 12-14. The event keeps with its traditional June schedule.
It could be inferred that the X could mean that Toycon will celebrate its 10th anniversary since it first moved to the SMX Convention Center in 2016. Toycon was originally held at the SM Megamall Megatrade Halls since it was first held in 2003.
After a few months, Toycon returns to the historic Baguio Country Club for the 7th North Hobby Convention powered by Toycon PH, with the date yet to be announced. Last year’s event was held in the first weekend of October .
Toycon then goes back to its roots at the SM Megamall Megatrade Halls for the traditional yearender event, the Christmas Toys and Collectibles Fair to be held on December 11 to 13.
Event particulars like ticketing and guests will be announced as event dates move closer. Announcements will be posted on their official website and social media handles. (FSPH)
